6 Non Runners: County Zen, Gift Of Dgab, Montan, Orzare, Points Of View, Secret Dancer

One horse has been at the top of the Coral Cup Odds for some time now and that is the Nicky Henderson trained Aegean Dawn who has two wins from two starts this season with both coming within a week of each other back in November. He won the Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham at the start of November with plenty in hand and that was his first run for about a year. Having been hit hard by the handicapper we saw Aegean Dawn return to the track just a week later at Ascot in the Canaccord Genuity Handicap Hurdle carrying a feather weight of 9st 9lbs. He duly scored with a good turn of foot to hold off the exciting Mille Chief to confirm his talent and he could be a special talent to keep an eye on.

Alan King has given the exciting Walkon an entry to the Coral Cup this season and he could be a major player in the outcome of the race. The grey horse only returned to the track in January after a lay-off of almost two years and he immediately looked somewhere near his best with a strong second place behind Tiger O Toole in the Holloways Hurdle at Ascot. We last saw him when he disappointed in the Totesport Trophy but that could be forgiven for the bounce factor, and if he can retain his best form which saw him run second in the JCB Triumph Hurdle back in 2009 he could every chance in Coral Cup this year.

Willie Mullins could well run Call The Police in the Coral Cup this season following a good couple of runs in Ireland recently. He had his first run of the season and for Mullins in January at Leopardstown and he ran a fine race in the MCR Hurdle. He was only beaten that day by Final Approach before going one better last time out at Punchestown during the middle of February. He won well that day in the Follow Us On Facebook Hurdle and has been given a decent Coral Cup weight of 10st 7lbs as a result.

Brian Ellison has confirmed that Bothy is likely to take in the Coral Cup at the Festival and he is a horse that rarely ever runs a bad race so has to come into consideration from punters. His most eye catching run of the season was a second place behind Champion Hurdle fancy Menorah in the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham back in November. It is worth noting that he was in receipt of two stone from Menorah that day but did push him all the way up the hill, so punters may want to watch the form of Menorah in the Champion Hurdle at the Festival.
