Aranleigh Two From Two

The Cheltenham Bumper form is working out well once again this year as Aranleigh the Tony Mullins four year old confirmed the early good impression with a victory in the Ladbrokes Hurdle at Navan at the weekend. The result gives Aranleigh two from two over hurdles but this may disguise a little bit of the true story as he only manage to get up on the line for the second time after looking in trouble up the home straight. Aranleigh just held off second favourite in the race Woodbine Willie for Philip Fenton and it will be interesting to see them do battle again as either horse could finish in front next time.

Having reviewed the race our eyes suggest that Aranleigh needs a bit of a distance and it will be interesting to see what he is aimed at for the Cheltenham Festival. it looks as though he will be targeted at the Ballymore Properties Hurdle and is at present a 16/1 chance for this race with Cork All Star heading this market.

Tony McCoy was again at his brilliant best on the winner and it was quite unusual to see him at Navan on Tingle Creek day. The McManus McCoy partnership is really paying dividends for the Irish businessman.
