Kicking King on the Way Back
Kicking King the winner of the 2005 Cheltenham Gold Cup is on the way back according to his trainer Tom Taaffe. The whole of Ireland is hoping he makes a complete recovery and gets himself spot on for this years Gold Cup as the Irish would love to see a class Irish horse take on Kauto Star and Denman. With War of Attrition the 2006 winner of the Gold Cup out for the season it really is all down to Kicking King to mount any sort of Irish Challenge.Kicking King injured himself during his victory in the 2005 King George VI chase at Sandown Park and this was his second victory in that race and the racing World looked to have another great champion straight after Best Mate won his 3 Gold Cups.

He's very well," said Taaffe, who nominated a hurdles race at Punchestown on New Year's Eve as the most likely option for Kicking King's reappearance.
