Jack The Giant Booked for Ryanair
Nicky Henderson was so pleased following Jack the Giant's win in the Ladbroke Hurdle at the Christmas Ascot meeting was really top class as this is one of the toughest handicaps of the season. Henderson made it quite clear that the Giant is a top chaser in the making and this win was only a bonus in an interview on Racing UK and a very nice bonus at that. The Giant was able to take advantage of a very lenient hurdles mark for the second weekend running as he was a handicap blot on two counts off just 127, for he is rated 151 over fences, and he had just a 6lb penalty for last week's Cheltenham hurdles win that incurred a 10lb rise. He got an ideal ride too, for he was never out out of the first four or five and came clear with long-time leader Alsadaa from the second last.
Jack The Giant will now return to fences with either the Queen Mother Champion Chase, or more likely the Ryanair, on the agenda for the Cheltenham Festival.
