Kauto Star is one in a million and he is now just over even money to win his second bonus million for his connections when he goes for the Cheltenham Gold cup in March. Stablemate Denman remains 2-1 second favourite. Exotic Dancer, who didn’t run his race, is out to 8-1 from 7-1.
Spokesman Damian Walker said: “Kauto Star was brilliant today and we have taken evasive action as a repeat of this effort would surely be good enough to land a second totesport Gold Cup for Kauto Star, even with Denman in the field.
“Racing Demon and Our Vic are rated 166 and 163 respectively and Kauto Star absolutely cantered over them. Denman will have to put up some performance in the Lexus Chase to threaten Kauto’s position at the head of the Gold Cup betting.”
