Franchoek heads the Triumph Hurdle Betting
Franchoek heads the Triumph Hurdle betting at odds of around 6/1 and trainer Alan King will be hoping he has another future star on his hands. Last year Katchit proved a sensation winning nearly every race but has found life a little more difficult now that he is taking on the best of the older horses. Franchoek was very impressive over Christmas at Chepstow and is a worthy favourite for the Triumph at the Cheltenham Festival in March.Paul Nicholls the champion National Hunt trainer has a very nice young hurdler in Celestial Halo won on his debut at Newbury over Christmas. Originally trained on the flat by Barry Hills he finished seventh to Lucarno in the St Leger and has since been gelded since joining the champion trainer. Celestial Halo came home alone winning by 14-lengths and was slashed from 14/1 to 7/1 second favourite for the Triumph Hurdle by VC Bet.
This race is usually one of the most competitve of the festival and so much will depend on the ground conditions as flat bred horses will do well should the ground be good but National Hunt bred horses do well if it is soft ground.
