Numide Supreme Contender
We have another contender for the Supreme Novices at Cheltenham in March as the 2006 French Derby fifth Numide is showing a liking for this game. He ran all over his rivals in the Spitfire Novices Hurdle at Folkstone this week and won this race without breaking sweat. This victory was his second for his trainer Gary Moore and it looks like he has something to go to war with here and this follows his excellent debut at Leicester three weeks ago.In the race Numide turned for home hacking over his rivals and won as a 1/5 on chance should. He is a very smooth jumper and he looks on the up. We will know more in the Dovecote at Kempton which will be his next race and a decision on Cheltenham will be made after this race.
Totesport has been forced to cut Numide from 16/1 to 14/1 for the Supreme Novices Hurdle following post race support. The firm originally left the price at an unchanged 16/1. Paul Petrie, totesport spokesman commented, “ Numide won the race as a 1/5 shot should and we didn’t think it was worth a price change. However, the punters disagreed and snapped up the 16/1 in no time.”
