The Master Minded Queen Mother Champion Chase odds took a real hit after his emphatic success in the totepool Game Spirit Chase at Newbury on Saturday. He jumped like a stag in front for most of the way and trainer Paul Nicholls compared him to his former star Azertyuiop and this was high praise indeed and this gives him a second live chance in the Queen Mother along with Twist Magic. On his debut he won a good handicap at Sandown off 145 and while he was getting six pounds from Voy Por Ustedes he won well enogh to suggest that he can give him a race off level weights. Paul Nicholls know that he had a great chance against Voy Por after he put in a really good piece of work last Wednesday.

The next question is who will Ruby ride in the Queen Mother as Master Minded goes to post on a roll whereas Twist Magic was beaten last time at Ascot and has thrown in the odd poor effort. From listening to Nicholls after the race one got the impression that he really likes this horse and he is an improver and is definitely going the right way, qualities that Paul always looks for.
