Leg Spinner or Googly

Reports from the online bookmakers suggest that Leg Spinner may not turn out to be a Googly come the Cheltenham festival. The Tony Martin trained horse, winner of the Cesarewitch at Newmarket is being backed for the Coral Cup and is a 9/1 chance with the sponsors. When the money goes down for a Tony Martin horse make sure you take note. He won the 2007 Cesarewitch from another couple of very useful jumpers in Caracciola and Fair Along who also has been subject of some support for the Queen Mother.

Leg Spinner's record marks him down as one to treat very seriously when he is right, and the 2005 Ascot Stakes winner has clearly been nursed right back to his best by his canny trainer. Leg Spinner was a winner at Ascot in the summer and the six-year-old defied a 6lb higher mark in the Cesarewitch to win in good fashion. His Flat form of late reads well, bar a blip on unsuitably soft ground in the Northumberland Plate, and he is one to keep on the right side whatever target is chosen for him.

So the recent money must be taken seriously and his win in the William Hill Hurdle at the Galway festival suggests he could well take the Coral Cup at the festival.
