Hibiki Cut for Fred Winter

Hibiki has been cut for the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival following his victory in the Alfa Aggregates Products Novices' Hurdle at Ludlow during the week. Hibiki has already shown his quality when scoring easily from Arabellas Homer at the same track in January and that horse had subsequently advertised the form at Ascot. Hibiki had to work hard for this follow-up success, his jumping was still a bit novicey at times and he will need to improve a fair bit on this effort if he is to make a major impact in the Fred Winter Hurdle at Cheltenham next month.

Hobbs' assistant Tim Dennis said: "He did that well carrying a penalty. We put him away after his last win over the course and distance to wait for better ground. "He has the option of going to Cheltenham now for the Fred Winter and there is no reason not to go as he has plenty of experience.

"VC Bet make the winner a 16-1 chance for the Fred Winter Juvenile Novices' Hurdle.
