Celestial Halo is 16/1 to follow Katchit and win the Champion Hurdle in 2009. Celestial Halo was an impressive winner of this year's Triumph Hurdle holding off the favourite Franchoek and Paul Nicholls would just love to win the Champion Hurdle and the Gold Cup in the same year.
Celestial Halo's jumping continues to improve and this will be vital if he is to come back next year and challenge for the premier hurdle race in the World. He has size and scope to go on over hurdles and bookmakers put him in as a 16-1 chance to take top honours next year. This years winner Katchit is a 6-1 chance.
Franchoek will be even better next year and he could well have his revenge over Celestial Halo in next seasons trials for the Champion Hurdle. Another option might be to step him up in trip, possibly at Aintree and certainly his will to win will continue to stand him in good stead.
