Irish Horses Backed For Grand National

Irish Horses backed for the Grand National which is now only 10 days away. Online bookmaker Stan James has reported money for Stan James saw plenty of interest in Irish challengers King John Castle (28s into 22s) and Chelsea Harbour (20s from 25s) this morning for the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree on Saturday week. VC Bet also reported very good backing for King Johns Castle from 33/1 to 20/1 for the Grand National. “Trainer Arthur Moore was bullish about the horse’s chance and the punters have stepped in and availed themselves of the 33/1 and 25/1 that was on offer this morning” commented Neal Wilkins from VC Bet.

The Irish have a great record in the race in recent years farming the race with winners such as Hedgehunter, Numbersixvalverde and Silver Birch. So when money comes for one of the Irish Horses the online bookmakers take note. At the head of this years betting the Irish also have Slim Pickings trained by Tom Taaffe. Tom Taaffe trained the 2005 gold Cup winner in Kicking King.

Another at the head of the market is Snowy Morning who was at one point favourite for the race. The Willie Mullins trained horse has drifted in the betting after his recent outing where he did not jump very well and finished in mid field.
