Scottish Grand National Runners

The Scottish Grand National Runners sees forty left in the field at the five day stage with the first two in the betting Miko De Beauchene and Halcon Genelardais frightening off a lot of the possible runners as over 50 came out yesterday. Miko De Beauchene and Halcon Genelardais had a great battle in the Welsh National and are set for the rematch this weekend. These two head the weights for the race, which looks a very open affair.

Another at the top of the market is Old Benny who won the Peter O'Sullevan National Hunt Chase Challenge Cup at Cheltenham last month and the evidence is that the winner of this race has a great chance in the Coral Scottish National. The 2006 winner of the Challenge Cup Hot Weld went on to win last season's Scottish National and Betfred Gold Cup. The 2007 winner of this race Butler's Cabin took the Irish National a month later.

Old Benny has the scope to achieve similar success as these horses and trained by Alan King he is a real danger to the top two in the weights.
