2000 Guineas Betting

The 2000 Guineas betting has seen a Cheltenham Festival type gamble on Henrythenavigator from the O'Brien stable. Totesport have eased friendless Jupiter Pluvius, from the Aidan O’Brien stable, to 14-1 from 9-1 for the 2,000 Guineas. Yesterday stablemate Henrythenavigator was cut to 12-1 from 16-1.

Spokesman Damian Walker said: “We haven’t struck a bet for Jupiter Pluvius in days and he is now twice the price he was this time last week, while during the same period Henrythenavigator has shortened eight points in our betting.

“The contrast in support for the two horses has been marked and the obvious conclusion to draw from all this is that Johnny Murtagh will get the leg up on Henrythenavigator. In fact Jupiter Pluvius is so weak in the betting that his participation could even be in doubt.”
