Punters will get a good idea of whether or not 6-1 joint second favourite Katchit is capable of defending his Champion Hurdle crown when Alan King's hurdler lines up at Wincanton tomorrow. Alan Kings horses are now at their top of their game after a slow start to the season where they looked like they all needed their first run. Katchit also likes it around Wincanton having won his preparation race last season before going on to win the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Spokesman Damian Walker said: "The totetentofollow.co.uk Elite Hurdle will tell us an awful lot about whether Katchit is up to defending his Champion Hurdle crown. Last season's top juveniles such as Binocular and Crack Away Jack are snapping at his heels and Katchit will need to put in a big run to maintain his position near the head of our Champion Hurdle betting.
"Fitness will not be an excuse for Katchit as he has already had a run this season and it will be interesting to see if he is competitive off a mark of 166 giving away upwards of a stone to some up-and-coming hurdlers."
