It could be that the Paul Nicholls and Clive Smith have come up trumps with another potential superstar in the shape of Free World, particularly after his superb victory at Sandown on November 8th. With Tony McCoy on board the four year old jumped a perfect round and led from start to finish. He was a warm 5/4 favourite beforehand but justified those odds comfortably leaving his rivals in his wake, winning by eight lengths.
The bookies by and large clipped his odds for the Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March from 25/1 to around 16/1.
Nicholls already has the pre-race favourite for the Arkle Chase, in Tatenen, who was an impressive winner when tackling fences for the first time at Aintree in October.
