Irish Targeting Boylesports Payout

Sky's The Limit looks likely to take his chance in the Boylesports Gold Cup at Cheltenham next week. The Irish have landed the valuable handicap chase on six occasions, most recently with Sir Oj three years ago. Edward O’Grady sent out the penultimate Irish-trained winner Go Roger Go in 2000 and hopes to be represented this year with Sky’s The Limit (10st 1lb), who is currently a 16/1 chance with Boylesports.

The seven-year-old is no stranger to success at Cheltenham, having triumphed under joint top-weight in the Coral Cup at The Festival in 2006. Last season he proved he had a high level of ability over fences with Grade One wins at Leopardstown and Fairyhouse, while on his only start this year he took third place behind Noland and Finger Onthe Pulse in a Grade Three handicap chase at Down Royal on November 1

Edward O’Grady revealed today: "It depends on how he works at the weekend, but I would like to run Sky’s The Limit in the Boylesports.com Gold Cup. "We were very happy with his run first time out this season at Down Royal but then he unfortunately had to miss his next intended start at the last Cheltenham Festival. "So we would like to bring him back to Cheltenham for the Boylesports but we just need to see how he gets on at the weekend. He seems to go on most types of ground."

There are three other Irish-trained contenders including Finger Onthe Pulse (10st 4lb), victorious in last season’s Jewson Novices’ Handicap Chase at The Festival, the Willie Mullins-trained Scotsirish (10st 2lb) and Notable D'Estruval (9st 2lb) from the yard of Arthur Moore.
