Cloone River Festival Favourite

Cloone River, who was widely fancied to win the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival this year made a successful come back to the track. Cloone River is clearly a horse with a huge amount of ability by the way he won his steeple chase races with consummate ease, there is no doubt he is clearly on the way back and the Cheltenham Festival 2006 may well be the year when it all comes together and he will be a huge festival favourite to do so.Cloone River was ruled out of this year’s Arkle through injury, and he made a successful return to the track in the Arthur Guinness EBF Handicap at the Curragh. Everyone can recall the Paul Nolan's nine-year-old fantastic display when winning last summer's Galway Hurdle, and he was well-backed once again to take the mile-and-a-half handicap. The gelding made smooth headway down the outside late on to score by a length and a half from Will He Rock.Cloone River is without doubt a horse with so much ability that it would be a shame if he does not go onto win a big race at the festival and this could become a reality for his owner and trainer next season.
