Phillip Hobbs believes his Champion Hurdler contender, Snap Tie has sound each way credentials ahead of the race at the Cheltenham Festival. Snap Tie started this season off by taking the scalp of current Champion Hurdler, katchit but has failed since to improve on that performance.
Hobbs admits that his run in the Haydock Park Champion Hurdle trophy last month was disappointing but he put the performance down to the heavy ground and the small field of runners. Hobbs will be much happier to run Snap Tie in a big field where the race goes a good gallop but struggles to take shape until the last mile, that said it is unlikely that Snap Tie will take his chance unless the ground is good. If it is good then Hobbs thinks a big run is on the cards.
