Grand National Favourite My Will Looks To Uphold Gold Cup Form

The Aintree Grand National takes place today with My Will the favourite to highlight the Cheltenham Gold Cup form where he finished in fifth place beaten 24 lengths by stable mate Kauto Star. My Will now three weeks later heads the maket in the biggest betting race of the year the 2009 Grand National.

The big question is will his jumping hold up over the massive National fences and there are many who think he will struggle as his jumping can let him down. If he does win the race it will be the first victory in the race for his trainer  Paul Nicholls. He will be ridden by Ruby Walsh who had such a fantastic Cheltenham Festival with 7 winners. He already has had 2 wins in the National and is going for his third win this afternoon.

Second favourite is Butlers Cabin ridden by Tony McCoy who is looking for his first National win and who knows this could be his year. Last years winner Comply Or Die takes his place in the field and the early money this morning has been for him to follow up after such an encouraging run at Cheltenham last time out.

So many questions and all will be answered by about 4:30 this afternoon.
