The action commences at 2.05pm when five classy four-year-olds line up for the £50,000 sportingbet.com Hurdle over an extended two miles. The field is headed by Grade One JCB Triumph Hurdle fourth Starluck.
The £20,000 Royal Gloucestershire Hussars Novices’ Chase (3.50pm) over an extended three miles has seven horses declared, while 14 have been declared for the competitive £20,000 Showcase Handicap Hurdle (4.25pm) over two miles and five furlongs.
A select field of four is set to go to post for the £12,000 Christmas Party Night At Cheltenham Novices’ Chase (5pm). The Charlie Mann-trained Red Admiral and the highly-rated Kangaroo Court from the Emma Lavelle yard are both seeking to complete a three-timer, although two of the latter’s victories came over hurdles.
The concluding £6,000 Arthur Bellamy 80th Birthday Celebration Open NH Flat Race (5.35pm) has 12 declared runners, headed by the Lawney Hill-trained Fiveways, unbeaten in two starts.
