Following a very classy win in the Grade Two Fortria Chase at Navan on 8 Nov 2009, the Colm Murphy trained BIG ZEB has had his odds cut to as short as 4/1 to take on and best dual winner MASTERMINDED in the 2010 Queen Mother Champion Chase.
The two Champion Chase principles met of course in the Kerrygold Champion Chase at Punchestown at the end of last season when MASTERMINDED got home by a head in an epic struggle with BIG ZEB up the run in. It is clear that BIG ZEB has improved since then and provided he can keep injury free then his chances of overhauling 11/10 antepost favourite MASTERMINDED is on the cards.
BIG ZEB with Barry Geraghty on board was never off the bridle when winning the Fortria. He came home only ½ length in front of MADE IN TAIPAN, who was flat to the boards but was clearly outclassed by the winner who had hardly broken stride to win in great style.
