Next week in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle we could see the first two in the betting come together in one of the best trial races for the 2010 Champion Hurdle. Favourite for the race is Binocular trained by Nicky Henderson at odds of around 7/2 and he will be having is first race of the season with A P McCoy on board, and in an interview on Channel 4 last weekend he sounded pretty upbeat about his horse for this year Cheltenham Festival feature.
He looks like he will come up against his main rival in Solwhit who is on the upgrade after beating the 2009 Champion Hurdle winner Punjabi at the end of last season and his opening race this year was also very impressive, where he blew away the previous ante post favourite for the race Hurricane Fly.
This looks like a top match up and one for the video recorders.
