Solwhit Wins at Leopardstown to Cement his Champion Hurdle Claims

Solwhit came back to form in the Leopardstown Christmas Hurdle when he got the better of Sublimity in a very interesting race for next years Champion Hurdle this coming March. The Champion Hurdle betting has ebbed one way and then the other all season with anyone of the top 10 in the market in with a chance. At the top of the betting are three horse, Zaynar, Solwhit and Go Native with different bookmakers having a different one of these three as their favourite for the race. We expect over the next 10 weeks we are going to see this market continue to change dramatically.

Another contender in the market also won at Leopardstown in Voler La Vedette who came out of the Christmas Hurdle to run in the mares race on the same card and duly obliged at very short odds to be included in the Champion Hurdle market as an outsider, should she take her place in the line up.

Over the Christmas racing Nicky Henderson was keen to put forward his case for reigning champion Punjabi as he feels he will have come on for his first run and is optimistic that he will be hard to beat come the first day of the Cheltenham Festival.
