Twist or Stick a Queen Mother Quandary For Punters and Ruby Walsh

The Queen Mother Champion Chase is going to pose a real problem for punters and Ruby Walsh alike. Twist Magic was once again in top form in the Victor Chandler Chase beating Petit Robin by 12 lengths and looked a real champion following up his decisive victory in the Tingle Creek earlier in the season. The Queen Mother betting has two time champion Master Minded as the clear favourite even though we have not seem him since he got beat in the Connaught Chase earlier in the season and he is still to recover from a rib injury.

Horse Racing punters are much more reluctant to turn their backs on their stars, the same can not be said for other sports. This keeps Master Minded at the head of this market when in fact Twist Magic offers all the value, even when one considers his poor record at the Prestbury Park track, running their three times, falling twice and finishing in 6th place on the other. The argument in his favour is that he is a new horse this season and has got his jumping together and will now put it up to his stable mate Master Minded.

On bare form Twist Magic beat Petit Robin by 12 lengths this season in the Victor Chandler while Master Minded at his best only beat him 7 lengths last year in the same race.

The value bet has the be Twist Magic ante post as Master Minded may not even make it on the day. The betting will be impacted significantly when Ruby Walsh makes his choice if it comes to it. But surely the bet in this race is to Twist at 5/1 with many of the bookmakers.
