Tony McCoy v Ruby Walsh Denman v Kauto Star in Cheltenham Gold Cup

Thank you Paul Nicholls, Paul Barber and the infamous Harry Findlay as you have given the race of the year another angle. Not only are we going to see the best two horses in the jumping game take each other on, in addition we are going to see the best two jockeys in Tony McCoy and Ruby Walsh come up against each other on horses that perfectly complement their riding styles.

This is excellent news for ante post punters for the Gold Cup as there is now certainty as to who will ride who and we will not have to wait on a decision from Ruby Walsh the week before the race.

The Cheltenham Festival organisers will be licking their lips and their pockets as this is the showdown that showcases this great 4 days racing which will build to this finale on the 19th March.

Tony McCoy will ride Denman in the Aon Chase next week and this will give us all a chance to see how the two work together. A thought has to go out to Sam Thomas who won the Gold Cup on Denman in 2008.
