Dunguib Most To Fear From Supreme Novice Oscar Whisky

For months now there has been only one horse that racing punters have wanted to know about for the Supreme Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and that horse is Dunguib. His latest victory at Leopardstown was greeted by his Irish supporters in the same way as we saw for Sea The Stars was welcomed back after his win in the Champion Stakes at the same venue last September. The Odds for Dunguib have shortened all the way down to odds on over the winter months and all the bookies are going to take a real battering should he come home in front in the opener of the 2010 festival at Prestbury Park.

The question has to be is there any horse that can give him a race? The answer to that million dollar question is that maybe there is in the form of the unbeaten Nicky Henderson trained Oscar Whisky who beat his rivals in the Kylmar Novices Hurdle at Sandown this afternoon without coming out of second gear. It looks like this horse loves the soft conditions and should he get this ground at the Cheltenham Festival then he just maybe able to give Dunguib a race at decent odds. Dunguib at the moment does not jump well and if he continues to kick his hurdles out of the way he may just open the door for one of his rivals in the Supreme Novices to offer the bookmakers some hope.

Following today's race at Sandown the price of Oscar Whisky remains an interesting 20/1 with Ladbrokes and this offers excellent each way value for next months feature.
