The initial list of entries for the RSA Chase at Cheltenham have been released and all are eyes are on hot favourite Grands Crus. The grey horse trained by David Pipe has proven to be the best novice chaser so far this season and will start a warm order if he takes his chance at Cheltenham. Such has been the form of Grands Crus that he has also been given an entry to the Gold Cup which is something punters should take note of. However we are more likely to see Grands Crus stay down the novice route in the RSA Chase and if he does he will be the one to beat as the betting shows. The highlight of the season so far for Grands Crus came at Kempton over Christmas in the Feltham Novices Chase when he won as he liked in a race one by Gold Cup winner Long Run a couple of years ago.
There are a number of other notable entries to consider outside of Grands Crus in what is always a top class race at Cheltenham. The Nicky Henderson yard are in top form and they are likely to enter the exciting Bobs Worth who we remember winning the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle at the Festival last year. The horse has taken to fences well this season and although he could only manage third in the Feltham over Christmas he deserves another chance and cannot be ruled out. There is no surprise to see the Irish have a strong hand in this race with the best of them likely to be Bog Warrior and First Lieutenant. Bog Warrior has shown some good form this season for Andrew Martin and he could be an interesting candidate at a nice price. The RSA Chase is always a tough one to predict with the novice chasers always capable of a mistake at a tough course like Cheltenham but at this stage Grands Crus is the clear favourite to take the win.
