Greenhope led the field at a good pace with Saintsaire in a good position just off the leaders. Kahuna went to challenge for the lead and Saintsaire makes a very big mistake and that did his chances with Hasty Prince coming to lead going round the final bend and was quickly challenged by Andreas and both jumped the last together and Andreas had too much grit in the end to win well in the end from Hasty Prince with Ground Ball in third and Ursis in fourth.1. Andreas (Robert Thornton) 12-1
2. Hasty Prince (AP McCoy) 8-1
3. Ground Ball (David Casey) 33-1
4. Ursis (Barry Geraghty) 14-1

2. Tiger Cry (DJ Casey) 6-1
3. Madison du Berlais (T Scudamore) 11-1

It is nice to see the class horse in the race come out on top and Fota Island was just too good for this field. The race is something of a lottery as it is helter skelter from the get go and only the brilliance of horse and jockey managed to steer a clear path around both fences and other horses with the biggest scare coming to the last when a lose horse nearly took out the brilliant Fota Island.1st Fota Island (P Carberry) 7-1
2nd Bambi de L'Orme (G Lee) 16-1
3rd Caracciola (M Foley) 16-1
3rd Tysou (M A Fitzgerald) 10-1
