We can now look forward to the 2011 Cheltenham Festival and all 26 races. Once the season gets underway in the Autumn all the focus will be on the stars of the National Hunt. The return of the likes of Kauto Star, Hurricane Fly and Sizing Europe will be of particular interest to see if they can return to the heights that they have achieved last season. Imperial commander winner of this years Gold Cup now has something to prove once more following his poor performance at Aintree.
The Champion Hurdle will be as big as the Gold Cup next season with all the talk bound to be about Hurricane Fly following his win in the Punchestown Champion Hurdle. Binocular was back to his best winning this year but he seems to find it difficult to string two good performances together as he will attempt to win back to back Champion Hurdles.
The Queen Mother will be very interesting also in 2011 with Sizing Europe likely to be targeted at this race. Master Minded now has a lot of questions to answer.
Big Bucks is going to be very short once more to win his third Ladbrokes World Hurdle and we all hope that the Willie Mullins Quevega will take him on, if so, who will Ruby ride? This years champion Bumper winner Cue Card will be one to watch in the Supreme Novices division.
We have the ante post betting odds for the Gold Cup, Champion Hurdle, Queen Mother Chase and Ladbrokes World Hurdle.
We will once again have the insights of Tom Lee Of Channel 4 and RTE who shall be putting up his Cheltenham Festival Tips in the lead up to festival. All the 26 races along with form, results and free bets from the online bookmakers will once again be a major feature of our Cheltenham betting previews.
Cheltenham 2010 Review
Day 1 goes to Binocular and A P McCoy
Dunguib was beaten in the first race of the day which was the start of things to come for the punters. The Irish got off the mark with Sizing Europe in the Arkle and managed to collect 3 winners on the day. The Champion Hurdle was won by Binocular for Nicky Henderson and Tony McCoy, Day 1 Review
Day 2 and Big Zeb Wins The Queen Mother
The feature on day 2 was the Queen Mother Champion Chase, where Master Minded was looking to win his third Queen Mother in succession but was never going and finished fourth, the race was won by Big Zeb at 10/1. Day 2 Review
Day 3 Big Bucks Wins Ladbrokes World Hurdle
Big Bucks did it for the Ladies and got one back for the punters in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle on day 3 of the festival. The Ryanair Chase went to Albertas Run and A P McCoy. Day 3 Review
Day 4 Gold Cup Day Goes To Nigel Twiston-Davies
Trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies trained the winners of the Gold Cup with Imperial Commander and the Foxhunters with Baby Run. This was a day to remember for the Gloucestershire trainer winning both races back to back. Imperial Commander so unlucky in the Betfair Chase earlier in the season got his reward today with the most important prize in the National Hunt season. Both Kauto Star and Denman will be back to fight another day. As a footnote he also took the last race with Pigeon Island.
The top trainer and top jockey awards went to Nicky Henderson and Ruby Walsh on count-backs. Full results for all races.
