Arkle Challenge Trophy 2010 Result

Captain Cee Bee set off as the favourite of the 12 runners going to post for the always exciting Arkle Trophy with Somersby and Sizing Europe also well fancied. The early leader was Sports Line who looked keen to set the pace at the front with no early fallers over the fences.

Mad Max was the one to take up the running down the back straight with Sizing Europe looking to be travelling particularly well alongside him. Mad Max made a bad mistake three out leaving Sizing Europe to take up the lead with Osana and Somersby both chasing hard and travelling. Captain Cee Bee was out of it leaving the three to battle it out at the front. Sizing Europe looked to be well clear coming off the last fence but started to idle in front allowing Somersby to close the gap with every stride. However the line came too soon and it was Sizing Europe who took the win for Henry De Bromhead in the Arkle ahead of the fast finishing Somersby and the always game Osana who claimed the third spot.
