Byrne Group Plate 2010 Result
The Byrne Group Plate was next up at 16.00 and there was a big field heading to the post with Sunnyhillboy the favourite of the 24 runners but it looked to be any one's as the tapes went up. The early pace was set by Mister McGoldrick and The Sawyer with the large field all tucked in behind them and waiting to make their move.
It was the Sawyer and Mister McGoldrick who were at the front a few out from home with Great Endeavour looking dangerous and he duly took the lead with two flights to go. The grey managed to hold his form up the hill to take the win from the fast finishing Sunnyhillboy who looked to be given too much to do while Mister McGoldrick ran a blinder at 13 to take a place in an exciting race.
