Kauto Star went off the 10/11 favourite from Denman who was a 9/4 chance. Neptune Collongues went on from Denman as they all got over the first two fences okay. Kauto Star was placed in third and handy ready to track every move from Denman. Denman jumped up really well as they went up the hill on the first circuit. There was very little change in the order except that Halcon Genelardais took closer order in third. Denman took it up going out into the country with Kauto in third who was jumping a bit low at his fences. Denman was upping the pressure at the front jumping really well and Kauto begun to look in trouble and Denman went away going into the straight and while out on his feet he held on just from Kauto Star and Neptune Collongues in third.
