The Coral Cup is always a fantastic handicap and there were a number of horses being well backed once again with Call The Police the slight favourite as the tapes went up in the race, Lightning Strike was another one who was the subject of plenty of money. The early pace setter was Dantari who strode clear in the early stages to get them going at a nice pace and the rest of the field were all together a few lengths back.

Dantari was still in the lead coming to the top of the hill but he was joined by For non Stop and Carlito Brgante who were travelling by far the best and it was left to those two to fight it out approaching the final hurdle. In the end there was no battle as For Non Stop fell at the last but it has to be said he looked beaten by Carlito Brigante who produced a stunning display to claim another win for owner Michael O'Leary on the day. Bothy ran on well to claim a place while the same can be said of Battle Group who also ran onto a place ahead of Solix who came in back in 5th place. Carlito Brigante gave Gordon Elliott his second winner of the day as the Irish continued dominating the card with five successive wins.
