Next race on the card was the County Handicap Hurdle which as always looked a tough betting race before the off, Citizenship was the one for money though and he started the warm favourite. As usual there was a strong gallop in the race with the likes of Dee Ee Williams and Plan A towards the head of the field and eager to get on with it.
Dee Ee Williams was still in front at the top of the hill with Ubi Ace just in behind him and looking dangerous and a number of horses travelling well. At the second last there were several horses in a heap including Plan A who was travelling with Alderwood and AP McCoy. Alderwood hit the front at the last and he managed to hold on for the win from the fast finishing Edgardo Sol who finished like a steam train for Harry Derham.
