David Nicholson Mares Hurdle 2008 Result
At the head of the betting on the off Chomba Womba and Sweet Kiln went off generally joint favourites. Gaspara a winner at the festival last year took them along early, with Sweet Kiln very handy as is her normal race style. Chomba Womba was going well in midfield as they went out into the country, where Magical Legend fell, Sweet Kiln began to struggle with Chomba Womba right there and looked the winner when White Oak came to challange and take it up over the last. When it looked as if she would go onto win Refinement came from out of the clouds and took it up 20 yards from the line where White Oak rallied and got back up. What a race to start Gold cup day.
