David Nicholson Mares Hurdle 2010 Result

The final race on day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival was the David Nicholson Mares Hurdle with 17 runners going to post as punters were given one last chance to win their money back. All the talk before the race was about last years winner Quevega and Voler La Vedette who were vying for favouritism, as far as the bookmakers were concerned it was a two horse race with punters split between the two.

It was Stravinsky Dance who shot clear at the start of the race and at one stage he was as far as 15 lengths clear before being pulled back in by the field about four out. No One Tells Me and Caroles Legacy took up the running with Voler La Vedette and Quevega lurking dangerously. Ruby Walsh made his move on board Quevega with two left and there was no turning back as she stormed away to claim her second successive win in the race. Caroles Legacy stayed on really well to claim second with Voler La Vedette back in third and unable to match the turn of foot of the very impressive winner.
