Festival Handicap Chase Results

The Festival Handicap Chase is always a tough betting race and all the talk before the off was about The Package and Quantitativeeasing who were being well backed. The early leader was Fruity O'Rooney who was being ridden handily as always with Our Mick also towards the front in the early stages. Fruity O'Rooney was joined by Pentiffic at the front as they completed the first lap with the field nicely bunched up behind them and all going well.

The same two horses were still leading as the race began to hot up at the top of the hill and they were a good few lengths clear of the field at the top of the hill. The field started to come back to the leaders though with The Package and Our Mick running good races. Pentiffic was quick to be burnt off leaving Fruity O'Rooney in front with The Package closing the gap and travelling in style. Out of nowhere though came Alfie Sherrin who simply stormed up the hill to collar Fruity O'Rooney in a great race after the last fence. The Package ran well after a long lay-off as did Our Mick but it was Alfie Sheerin who claimed a cracking win.
