The Festival Plate Handicap went to post with Ping Pong Sivola as the favourite with the bookmakers and there were 23 runners in total. Cossack Dancer was the early pace setter and took them out a good pace before he faded badly.
There were some notable fallers including well fancied Clarified and Perce Rock but it was Ping Pong Sivola who took up the pace and went for home from a long way out. It was Something Wells that joined Ping Pong for a duel to the line. On this ocassion it was Something Wells who stayed the better in a close race to the line to gain the victory. Notable D'estruval came home in third place with Three Mirrors in fourth spot.
