The Fred Winter Handicap was next up and there were a number of horses being well backed with Plan A the favourite for Gordon Elliott who was looking for his third win of the day and another Irish trained winner to boot. There was not a great early pace with the field tightly packed over the first few hurdles and a number of the well fancied runners including Plan A were being held up towards the back of the field.
As they turned onto the straight it was Kumbeshwar under top weight that was at the front and he was running a massive race, in behind though both Plan A and What A Charm who were both looking dangerous. Kumbeshwar led over the final hurdle when Plan A found nothing to leave What A Charm to take on the leader up the hill in a classic struggle. In the end the Irish recorded another success today with What A Charm claiming the win from a gallant Kumbeshwar with Plan A back in third place after running well but not finding anything when needed.
