The next race on the card was the Fred Winter Handicap which looked wildly competitive as always with Vendor going off the favourite for Alan King. We had a big field as always for the Fred Winter and there were a number of horses towards the front early on including Kie and Kazlian among many others. The whole field were tightly packed together over the first mile or two.
At the top of the hill there was a number of horses in with a real chance and travelling well heading into the home straight. The first to emerge from the pack was Kazlian who was allowed a big lead by the field with two to jump but he looked to be tiring coming to the last. It was Une Artiste who came from the clouds to finish like a rocket up the hill to claim another Henderson winner on a remarkable day for the Seven Barrows team. Edeymi ran well to claim a place, as did Vendor who was under pressure for some time but stayed on really well for a place.
