Grand Annual Chase Results

Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle
Conditional Jockeys Hurdle

We now come to the last race of the Festival, the Grand Annual Chase and like many of the big races this week it looked to be a highly competitive race from a betting point of view. The favourite as the tapes went up was Kid Cassidy whose trainer Nicky Henderson was looking for another winner after a great week. There was a good early gallop for the final race and the early pace was set by the likes of Tanks For That and Ultimate.

There was a very strong pace as always for this race and as we came to the top of the hill it was Kumbeshwar who was at the front but the field were tightly packed with a number of horses right in contention including Tanks For That. Tanks for That lead at the last but Bellvano was travelling like a dream and the pair of them had a good old battle up the hill. It was Bellvano who finished like a train under Paul Carberry to give Nicky Henderson another winner in the race named after his dad while Tanks For That finished second.
