The first race on the final day of the 2012 Cheltenham Festival was the Triumph Hurdle and from a betting point of view it looked like a wide open affair. Baby Mix and Grumeti were fighting for favouritism before the off and it was shaping to be a fascinating race. We had a full field of 20 for the race and the earlly quick gallop was set by Sadlers Risk and Hollow Tree while Shadow Catcher was held up at the rear.
There was a furious pace on through the race and at the top of the hill on the second circuit it was Sadlers Risk who still lead but any number of horses were in behind him and looking dangerous. Hollow Tree came to challenge along with baby Mix and Dodging bullets. However it was Countrywide Flame though who came alongside Grumeti at the last and it was Countrywide Flame who sprung a shock to storm up the hill and claim a great win. Hisaabaat ran on well to claim second ahead of Grumeti.
