The final day of the 2012 Cheltenham Festival gets underway with the grade one Triumph Hurdle. In recent years the field size has been reduced as this race traditionally has a field of 28 going to post. In addition to that we have seen some real top class winners of this race in recent years, the likes of Celestial Halo, Katchit and Zaynar have won this one before going onto bigger and better things at Cheltenham.
Since the introduction of the alternative handicap for juveniles in the form of the Fred Winter Hurdle has resulted in the field size. In 2009 and 2006 the field size has been in the mid teens and this has led to a better quality of horses lining up.
This is one of the most active Cheltenham Festival ante post betting markets as the juvenile hurdlers are emerging throughout the National Hunt season and the best of them rise to the top in the betting market and you can check out all the market moves on our odds comparison charts.
There are many interesting triumph Hurdle form lines to assess prior to the Cheltenham Festival feature. The Juvenile Novices' Hurdle trial at the Cheltenham trials day is a good example of the kind of race we will be looking at in our from section
The form lines for this race are very clear with many of the recent winner winning in their race prior to the Triumph in March as such we shall be putting up our selections in good time prior to race day.
