Next up was the feature race of the day the Ladbrokes World Hurdle with Bucks all the rage in the ring before the off as he looked for a historic third successive win in the race, Grands Crus was also being talked about as a winner after a brilliant season. The early leader was Cross Kennon with Big Bucks in midfield and Grands Crus held up right out the back in the early stages of the race. As they set out on the final circuit it was still Cross Kennon in the lead with very little covering the entire field and all in with a shout.
At the top of the hill the whole field were packed in behind Cross Kennon but he was quickly brushed aside with the expected duel between Big Bucks and Grands Crus developing as they came to the final hurdle with both looking good. Off of the last Big Bucks was a length clear and he used all his experience and power to hold off a great challenge from Grands Crus who must be given credit to claim a remarkable third consecutive win in the World Hurdle.
