Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle

The next race on the card was the feature of the day, the Ladbrokes World Hurdle with Big Bucks going for a fourth successive win in the race. Big Bucks was sent off the hot favourite but he was easy to back with a number of bookmakers and punters looking to take him on this year. We had 11 runners for the big race and the early pace was set by Cross Kennon and Five Dream with Big Bucks settled in midfield under Ruby Walsh.

The same pair lead the field into the second circuit with Big Bucks taking closer order back in third place alongside Mourad. AS they came to the top of the hill at the top of the course it was Mourad who came to the front of the field but he had Big Bucks right there while Oscar Whisky was walso travelling well with Thousand Stars. Big Bucks came to the last in front with Voler La Vedette the only real danger after travelling really well until that point. It looked set to be a classic duel but as always Big Bucks battled on and he duly stormed up the hill to claim a stunning fourth successive win in the World Hurdle, the mare Voler La Vedette ran a massive race back in second place.
