The next race on the card was the excellent Neptune Novices Hurdle and all the talk before the off was about the grey Simonsig who was being well backed. The first horse to show was Brass Tax who looked happy to set a strong clip along with Fiulin who went off five lengths clear of the field in the early stages. The field were happy to let Fiulin go early on and he held a big lead for some time with the rest of the field tightly packed behind him.
The horse to emerge at the top of the hill was Cotton Mill who looked eager to take on the leader but a number of horses were in with a chance including Simonsig who looked very dangerous. Cotton Mill lead Simonsig coming to the second last but Cotton Mill refused the fence to leave the grey in the clear coming to the last. The grey horse simply hacked up to give Nicky Henderson another winner with Felix Yonger staying on well to claim second, in truth there was only ever going to be one winner in the form of Simonsig who looks to be a seriously good horse.
