Having looked at a few of the key contenders for the race there seems to be a bit of guesswork to be done with this one and maybe one should have a good look down the betting market to see if you can come up with a big priced winner here.
Clear favourite Alfie Sherrin who is a point and bumper winner is an interesting runner for the Pertemps having won nicely on his racecourse reappearance this season for Paul Nicholls. His price in this race suggests that many think Nicholls has held him back for the festival and this is another that could add to the Nicholls/Walsh tally for the week. The horse he beat into fifth in this race Quinz came out at Kemptom on the 6th of March and won by a county mile!!
Prince Erik is another interesting runner from a top year. Dermot Weld sent him out at Leopardstown on the 23rd of January. Prince Erik put his best hoof forward on this day and he will like the Cheltenham Hill.
Ainama was last seen out at the end of November for the Nicky Henderson J P McManus and A P McCoy trio where many observers thought that he would come on for the race finishing fifth in the race.
