Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle Results

The Pertemps Final is always a tough one for punters and it looked very much that way once again this season with 24 runners going to post for the big handicap race. Buena Vista had won this race for the past two years and there was plenty of money about him adding a third triumph in 2012. There was a strong gallop as always at Cheltenham with the likes of Ashkazar and Rick towards the front of the big field which was tightly packed.

There was no surprise to see Buena Vista come to the front before too long and along with Palace Jester they took up the running into the final circuit. The pair of them lead at the top of the hill but a number of horses were looking dangerous in behind them with Palace Jester in particular going well. Kayf Aramis came to challenge Palace Jester coming up to the second last with Cantlow lurking dangerously with Cape Tribulation. In fact it was Cape Tribulation who kicked on up the hill to hold off a late charge from Catch Me to win the Pertemps Final.
