The RSA Chase went to tape with 15 runners in what was expected to be a tightly contested affair. It was Cooldine who went off as favourite for the RSA. It was Carruthers who set a strong pace round the first circuit.
Carruthers set a lightning pace which caused several horses to pull up but he was unable to shake off Cooldine. Carruthers made a bad error at the second last and Cooldine coasted past him and never looked back from that point. Carruthers tied up badly and was passed by Horners Wood at a massive price and Massinis Maguire coming up the hill but it was Cooldine who stole the show and he looks a class horse.
1440 RSA Chase (3m)
1. Cooldine (Ruby Walsh) 9-4 favourite
2. Horners Wood (Robbie Power) 66-1
3. Massinis Maguire (Richard Johnson) 10-1
