Supreme Novices Hurdle Results

22 went to post for the 2008 Supreme Novices Hurdle. This was a very open race on the book with the bookies going 8/1 the field with Binocular, Pigeon Island, Muirhead, Kyber Kim, Rippling Ring, Cork All Star and Captain Cee Bee all fighting it out at the head of the market.

Norther Bay took them along at a good pace, Deep Purple and Pasco were handy early on. Binocular took up a good position on the far side with the whole field bunching up. Captain Cee Bee and Binocular came into the final furlong together and Captain Cee Bee had to much coming up the hill for Binocular with Snap Tie in third.

After the race the owner of Captain Cee Bee was in jubilent mood as JP
McManus went on to say, "It's unbelievable - you dream about things
like this and you think it will never happen. It's a strange feeling to be
honest. It's not the euphoria; it's the release ofthe pressure of the last
four months. You train the horse for the one day; you have certain things
go wrong, not been able to get a run into the horse. You come here after a
hundred and something days with no run hoping you're not going to leave
Cheltenham with egg on your face. It's a relief more than anything
else."
