Bensalem was last seen out in the Toteplacepot Novice Chase at Newbury on the 13th February. In this race he finished second behind Diamond Harry and while he took time to warm up here his jumping lost him this race but he deserves plenty of credit for coming back as he did in the home straight and in lesser company may jump better.
The Package was last seen out in November in the Neptune Handicap Chase at Cheltenham which he won having jumped well after an early mistake. This was his first win over fences, but although he is still somewhat quirky he is settling better now and starting to fulfil his potential. He beat The Tother One by a length in this race who is another contender for this race
